Pastoral Team

Pastor: Rev. Francisco Sebastian P. Bacatan, PhD, A.M.

Father Sebastian entered the Alagad ni Maria (Disciples of Mary) Religious Community in the Philippines in 1985 and was ordained to the Holy Order of Priesthood in 1994. In the Philippines, he served extensively in youth ministry, including as Diocesan Youth Director of the Prelature of Infanta and in regional youth leadership serving seven dioceses. He also taught at San Carlos Seminary in Manila.

He came to New York in 1998 to further his education and earned a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. in Religion and Religious Education from Fordham University, both with high honors. His doctoral work grew in part from his years of ministry and professional service at Daytop Village, where he served as Special Assistant to the President from 2001 to 2009. He also has contributed to scholarly work in the field of substance abuse treatment and the therapeutic community.

He joined the Church of Saint Pius X in 2000 as an Associate Pastor and was appointed pastor in July 2010. His ministry at St. Pius X emphasizes liturgical life, faith formation, youth religious education, pastoral counseling, and community outreach. In addition to his parish ministry, he serves in leadership with Alagad ni Maria and as a Region 1 Representative of the National Association of Filipino Priests in the United States (NAFP-USA).

Parochial Vicar: Rev. Rocky Abraham B. Sibayan, A.M.

Father Rocky is the third of the four children of Rolando Sibayan and Ma. Theresa Bersamina. He entered the Religious Institute of the Alagad ni Maria (Disciples of Mary) in 2009 and was ordained to the Holy Order of Priesthood on June 20, 2020. After ordination, he was appointed as Youth Director and Vocation Director for the congregation’s youth ministry in the Philippines. In September 2022, he was assigned as Pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Panukulan, Quezon until he came to the United States in January 2024 to join the Church of Saint Pius X to assist Father Sebastian as his Parochial Vicar.
