Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA)
(formerly Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA))
OCIA is the process by which persons who are considering conversion to the Roman Catholic faith participate in a period of reflection, prayer and instruction in the Catholic way of life. OCIA welcomes persons who seek to be baptized or desire to complete Sacraments.
OCIA classes are held each Thursday (except during the summer) from October through March between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm via Zoom. Catechumens are received into the Church.
Please fill out the Registration Form here and send it to the Parish Office with your documents and check made payable to the Church of Saint Pius X. If you need additional information, please contact the Parish Office at 914-725-2755 (or spx@spxny.org).
There is an honorarium of $200 for registered parishioners and $250 for non-parishioners. Please make checks payable to the Church of St. Pius X and deliver/mail to the Church of St. Pius X Parish Office, 91 Secor Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583 with the relevant documents listed below.
If you wish to receive Baptism, please fill out the OCIA Registration Form here and return it to the Parish Office with your check and the documents listed below:
- A copy of your birth certificate; and
- A completed Baptism Godparent Sponsorship Form (Please click here for the form.)
If you wish to receive Reconciliation and Communion, please fill out the OCIA Registration Form here and return it to the Parish Office with your check and the documents listed below:
- A copy of your birth certificate; and
- A copy of your Baptismal Certificate signed and sealed from the church where you were baptized.
If you wish to receive Confirmation, please fill out the OCIA Registration Form here and return it to the Parish Office with your check and the documents listed below:
- A copy of your birth certificate;
- A copy of your Baptismal Certificate signed and sealed from the church where you received the sacrament;
- A copy of your First Communion Certificate signed and sealed from the church where you received the sacrament;
- The saint’s name you will take as your Confirmation name; and
- A completed Confirmation Sponsorship Form (Please click here for the form.).
